Floors and Doors–What Did We Choose??

The Flip House is Getting Floors and New Doors!

The Flip House is moving right along and going smoothly!  The place is starting to look like a real house! What is your favorite type of flooring and what door style do you like?  Can’t wait to show you all the flooring choice for the Flip House and the  brand new doors.  I have always been a fan of different and unique flooring.  I think it can really makes a place stand out.  I do have a little secret (it’s not a secret to some but for most it will be).  My uncle is a salvager.  He’s actually a general contractor and can build anything and I mean anything.  He takes down old buildings, houses, barns, etc.  He’s been doing this type work for a long time and has quite the collection of unique treasures.  There are architectural salvage pieces like columns, iron work, corbels, doors, cabinets, and wood and lots more.  He has gobs and gobs and gobs of wood.  It is some of the most beautiful wood and has such history.  I love to just walk around and look at all the treasures.  I always have to snag something when I’m there.  He and my aunt host weddings at their place so if you are in South Georgia and looking for a fantastic rustic wedding venue, check out Hutcheson Plantation here.  The point of this story is that I got all the wood flooring from him!  It is the real thing.  The real reclaimed heart pine and it is to die for!!!!  Definitely swoon worthy.  It would be hard to put a rug on it!  Do I have you salivating yet?  How about a picture of this beautiful wood.

Misc floor starting flip

Here it is stacked up and starting to be laid.  These are wide plank boards and are so beautiful!  They also smell pretty fabulous!

Misc floor close up flip

This is an up close picture at the start of the flooring going down.  Look how beautiful they are even in their raw state.  You won’t believe how awesome they are once they get sealed!  What do you think?

Hall During floors going in

And here they are freshly laid in the hallway.

All of the doors are being replaced in the entire house because the other doors were hideous.  They had to go and we replaced them with new quality interior doors with a great design.  Are you ready to take a look?

Misc doors 2 flip

Here they are ready to be put in.  I love the 5 panel look and it will go great with the linear interior design plan.

Another shot of the doors ready to go!

Hall During floors and doors in

And last but not least a shot of the doors installed in the hall.  Sorry for the poor lighting in the photos.  The light was impossible to work with.

Can’t wait to reveal the tile and the cabinets soon.  Woohoo!  We are getting somewhere aren’t we?
